Red and Blue Drop A-10 Opener to SLU

Duquesne's women's soccer team opened Atlantic 10 play with a 6-0 loss to regionally ranked Saint Louis Sunday afternoon on Rooney Field in both team's Atlantic 10 openers.
The Dukes fell behind early as the Billikens found the net just 33 seconds into the contest and trailed 2-0 at halftime with Saint Louis scoring again in the 39th minute.
SLU exploded however in the second stanza with four goals in a 30 minute span to put the game out of reach. The Billikens fired 35 shots on the day with the Dukes making 13 saves.
DU managed just four shots in the loss as Liz Bok, Shaina Geisler, Amber Paul and Kelly Reed each attempted to score.
Duquesne will look to bounce back on the road on Friday, Oct. 6 as it travels to Bronx, NY to face Fordham at 7:00 pm.
