Women's Soccer and Saint Joseph's Draw 0-0

PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne women's soccer team played Saint Joseph's to a 0-0 draw on Friday night at Rooney Field. The Dukes' record is now 4-7-2 overall and 0-2-1 in Atlantic 10 Conference play.

Devon Tabata recorded Duquesne's first shutout of the season by turning back 10 Hawks' shots. Stephanie Colon led the Dukes with six shots.

SJU had a chance to get on the board first when Mo Hawkins' shot was stopped by a diving Tabata in the 11th minute. Bridget Lynch had a chance six minutes later for the Dukes, but her shot went just wide of the goal on the right side.

In the second half, Saint Joseph's Morgan Duffy hit the cross bar from 10 yards away in the 69th minute. Colon had another chance to score in the 87th minute, but SJU keeper Christine Neal was able to make the save during a scrum in front of the net.

In overtime, Duquesne's Paige Maroney almost ended the contest when her shot from 35 yards out bounced off the cross bar.

Up next, the Dukes host Temple on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m.
