Women's Soccer Wins 5-1 at Fordham

Junior Audra Mathews led the Dukes with three goals as the Red & Blue defeated host Fordham (7-4-0, 1-1) 5-1 Friday night. Also posting goals was Nicole Nanchoff and Kelly Reed. Shaina Geisler recorded one assist. Keeper Ginny Bondi had two saves while Brittany Findley added one.

Fordham's lone goal came from Leah Jerone.

Mathews started the Dukes' five-goal spree with an unassisted score 13:06 into play and landed the game-winner at 29:58 off a penalty kick. Nanchoff gave the Red & Blue a 3-0 lead at 37:11 unassisted followed by an unassisted score from Mathews at 43:25 for a 4-0 half-time lead. Geisler gave Reed the feed at 58:98 in the second half before the Rams finally were put on the board in the 64th minute.

Duquesne out-shot Fordham 18-6 for the match.

The Red & Blue return to action Sunday in a 12:00 pm match at St. Bonaventure.
