Bronx, N.Y. - Duquesne University's women's soccer team was topped by the host Fordham Rams, 3-1, Sunday afternoon at Edwards' Parade.

After the Rams took a 1-0 lead on Beth Purcell's first of two goals at the 35:55 mark, Duquesne quickly notted the game at one just three minutes later as freshman Kelly Reed (South Park, Pa. / South Park) scored on a breakaway after a pass from classmate Audra Mathews (Cincinnati, Ohio / Saint Ursula Academy).

Fordham's Leah Jerome scored from 10 yards out with just 11 seconds left in the first half for the 2-1 edge. Purcell struck again at the 59:15 mark, volleying a shot from 35 yards out for the insurance goal. Fordham raised their record to 7-2-2, 2-2-1 in league play.

The Dukes (7-7-0, 2-3-0 Atlantic 10) travel to Washington, D.C. for a Friday afternoon matchup with George Washington at 3:00 p.m. on Oct. 15th.
