Richmond, Va. - Duquesne University's women's soccer team was topped by Richmond, 2-0, Sunday afternoon at at First Market Stadium. The Dukes are now 7-8-1, 2-4-1 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Spiders raised their record to 7-5-1, 5-2-0 in league play.

Richmond controlled play through most of the contest, outshooting the Red and Blue 19-7. Sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Gecik did her best to keep the Dukes in the match, recording seven saves.

Carrie Holland gave UR the lead at the 36:12 point of the first half after a scramble in front of the net. Christine Wrublesky scored off a 10-yard rebound shot with just over ten minutes remaining in the game.

Duquesne kicks off the home portion of their conference schedule on Friday, October 22nd when they host Temple (4-10, 1-5 A-10) at 7:00 p.m. on Rooney Field.
