Dukes Take Owls in Overtime

Pittsburgh, PA - Second-year Head Coach James Walker recorded his 100th career victory as his Duquesne Dukes (8-8-1, 3-4-1A-10) took a 1-0 overtime victory against visiting Temple (4-12-0, 1-7-0 A-10) Friday evening on Rooney Field. Freshman Faye Rasmussen (Westlake, Ohio / Magnificat) netted the game-winner from senior Katie Schwager (Akron, Ohio / Walsh Jesuit) as she scrambled past an Owl defender for a 10-yard shot from the far left-hand corner at 98:10.
Sophomore keeper Virginia Bondi (Strongsville, Ohio / Strongsville), who didn't have much action in front of the net, recorded two saves for the shutout, the third of her career. The Dukes return to play this Sunday as they host Saint Joseph's at 1:00 pm.
