The Duquesne women's soocer team took a 2-1 Atlantic 10 victory at Massachusetts Friday afternoon to improve to 8-7-2 overall, 4-3-1 in the Conference. UMass dropped to 3-10-1, 2-6-0 in league play.

Down 0-1 at the half, senior Lauren Bracco (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hallow Hills West) tied the contest in the 54th minute with her eighth goal of the season. Her total ties the Duquesne single-season mark and gives her 15 on her career, also tied for first in the Duquesne records book.

Junior Katie Schwager (Akron, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) nailed the game winner in the 88th minute for the win off an assist from sophomore Jennifer LaCava (Novelty, Ohio/West Geauga).

Freshman keeper Rachel Gecik (Westlake, Ohio/Westlake) went the distance in goal recording her fourth win on the season. She recorded two saves and faced eight shots on the day. Her teammates put up 17 shots against Kristen Rutland who recored seven saves.

The Dukes are at Rhode Island (6-7-2, 4-3-1 A10) on Sunday for a 1:00 pm start.
