Cincinnati, Ohio -- Duquesne's women's soccer team lost in double overtime at Xavier, 1-0, Sunday afternoon on XU's Corcoran Field.

A penalty kick goal in the game's final period made the difference. In the second overtime, the referee ruled that Xavier's Melissa Clavier was fouled by a Duquesne defender. Awarded a penalty kick, Xavier's (8-9-0, 4-5-0 A10) Katie Broe nailed a shot into the upper left side of the goal at the 101:59 mark.

Senior Erin Marshall (Mt. Lebanon, Pa. / Mt. Lebanon) led the Dukes with three shots on goal while senior goalie Kristin Scharphorn (Niskayuna, N.Y. / Niskayuna) had nine saves. XU goalie Megan Veith recorded six saves.

The Dukes (5-11-1, 1-7-1 A10) return to action on Friday as they travel to Bronx, NY, for a 2:00 p.m. match with Fordham (6-11-0, 2-7-0 A10) at FU's Edwards' Parade.
