The Duquesne women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss to Atlantic 10 leading Dayton (12-5-1, 8-2-0) Friday night on Rooney Field. The Dukes fell to 8-9-2, 4-5-1 in A-10 play. Lauren Bracco (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hallow Hills West) netted her ninth goal of the season in the 82nd minute to avoid the shutout. She became the DU single-season goal leader with her score and is tied for first on the career list with 15 goals.

Virginia Bondi (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville) went the distance in front of the cage recording eight saves on 18 shots.

The match saw 42 minutes of even and scoreless play until the Flyer's Reba Sedlacek came off the bench and netted the first goal of the match in the 43rd minute rebounding a Bondi save. The held the 1-0 edge at the half.

Dayton went up 2-0 with Sedlacek's second score in the 63rd minute off a header before Duquesne's Bracco found an opening in a solidly defending goal for a 1-2 reach and final.

Dayton out-shot the Dukes 18-8 on the Day and held an 11-1 advantage on corner kicks.

Duquesne closes out the season with Senior Day on Sunday as the Dukes host Xavier for a 1:00 pm Atlantic 10 match.
