PITTSBURGH - Duquesne head women's soccer coach Al Alvine has announced that Lauren Yobbi (Pittsburgh, Pa./South Park) has transferred from the University of Pittsburgh to Duquesne.

Yobbi, who will be a junior, will have two years of eligibility with the Dukes.

Prior to her time at Pittsburgh, where she played in 38 matches, making nine starts, she was a standout player at South Park High School. She led the Eagles to four consecutive WPIAL Class AA section titles, a WPIAL Championship and a berth in the PIAA Championship match. Yobbi received All-Section honors from 2007-2010, All-WPIAL honors from 2008-2010 and All-State honors in 2009 and 2010. Additionally, she was NSCAA All-American and All-Region in 2010.

At the club level, she played for Century United for seven years. She was a member of five State Cup Champions (PPA) teams and the 2008 PA West State Cup champion team. She led Century United to a national finals appearance and two regional championships.

"Lauren will add a real physical presence to our midfield," said Alvine. She's strong in the tackle, good in the air and will add some experience and leadership to our current group of players."

The Dukes conclude their spring schedule on Sunday with matches against Robert Morris at noon and Marshall at 3:00 p.m. on Rooney Field.
