Red and Blue Hand Out Awards at Year-End Banquet

The women's soccer team recently held its year-end banquet where it honored all of the award winners from the season as well as its own team awards.

Receiving regular season on-field awards were Audra Mathews and Emily Sedgwick who were named All Atlantic 10 Second Team as well as Ginny Bondi who was All A-10 Honorable Mention.

Also honored were the numerous academic award winners led by Sedgwick who was an NSCAA Academic Regional All-American Second Team choice and Liz Bok who was a CoSIDA Academic All-American, an Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference choice and an NSCAA Academic Regional All-American Honorable Mention pick. Faye Rasmussen and Christina Goodfellow were also NSCAA Academic Regional All-American Honorable Mention honorees.

The Dukes also had an all-time best 12 student-athletes named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, including the four previously mentioned academic award winners and Carrie Anderson, Bondi, Jenna Farneti, Nicole Nanchoff, Kelly Reed, Annie Reid, Shannon Rengers and Kelly Shank.

In addition the following team awards were announced:

Golden Boot - Audra Mathews
Sportsmanship Award - Lindsay O'Connell
Work Ethic Award - Shannon Rengers
Most Improved Player - Danielle Pieri
Unsung Hero Award - Christina Goodfellow
Rookie of the Year - Kimberly Roncase
Defensive Player of the Year - Kelly Reed
Offensive Player of the Year - Faye Rasmussen
Most Valuable Player - Ginny Bondi
