Liz Bok Named First Team Academic All-America

PITTSBURGH, PA - Duquesne University's Liz Bok (Akron, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) has been named to the first team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 2 Academic All-America squad. It is the second consecutive first team honor for the defender. She is one of just 11 Division I student-athletes from Pennsylvania, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey and West Virginia to be selected. Bok will now be listed on the National Team ballot which will be released on Nov. 21.

Bok, a redshirt-junior, owns a 3.86 grade point average as an integrated marketing communication/Spanish double major. The two-year starter helped lead the Duquesne defense this season which allowed just 1.68 goals per game over the season. Bok was also an asset in the Red & Blue recording two team shut outs on the year. On the offensive side of play, she assisted on the on a goal at Saint Joseph's giving her four on her career. She has also been named a 2006 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference selection.

Bok is a member of the Dean's List, Director of Athletics' and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Rolls and is active in volunteer work.

Duquesne finished the season 4-10-2 overall, 3-5-1 in Atlantic 10 play to end the year ranked ninth in the 14-team A-10 standings.
