Duquesne's swimming team won five of the 12 individual races and split the two relay decisions, but it was not enough as visiting Toledo defeated the Dukes, 141-121 Saturday at Towers Pool in DU's season opener.
Duquesne's swimming team will open the 2014-15 campaign on Saturday, Oct. 11 as it hosts Toledo at 1:00 pm at Towers Pool. Video of the meet will be streamed live at GoDuquesne.com and results can be followed on the Meet Mobile application for Android and iOS.
Duquesne swimming coach David Sheets announced that the Oct. 24 home meet versus St. Francis has been moved to 5:30 pm.

Duquesne University's women's swimming team was listed in the recently released College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division I Scholar All-America rankings, honoring all schools with a 3.00 or higher team grade point average.
The Atlantic 10 Conference set a record for the highest average of student-athletes honored on its bi-annual Commissioner's Honor Roll, with 1,339 total honorees, an average of 103 per institution for the 2014 spring semester.
Duquesne University swimming coach David Sheets participated in The Great Chesapeake Bay Swim on Sunday, June 8. Sheets finished 41st of over 600 swimmers with a personal best time of 1:48.49 to raise money for the March of Dimes.
