Red and Blue Cruise Past Clarion, 140-65

Duquesne's swimming team wrapped up its regular season with a 140-65 victory Saturday afternoon at Towers Pool. The Dukes were victorious in 10 of the 11 races as seven different Dukes captured first place finishes.
The Dukes set the tone early, winning the 400-yard medley relay by over four seconds with a time of 4:01.15. DU won the next five individual races as Hannah Kondrotas touched first in the 1,000 free by almost five seconds in 10:49.58, Kristi Magee won the 200 free in 1:59.38, Erin Cawley took the 50 free in 24.63, Miriam McGeath won the 200 IM in 2:08.93 and Line Lovberg captured first in the 200 butterfly in 2:06.11.
After finishing second, third and fourth in the 100 free, Duquesne rattled off wins in the final four races as Morgan Claycomb won the 200 backstroke in 2:09.54, Christine Rosebaugh took first in the 500 free in 5:18.39, McGeath won the 200 breaststroke in 2:26.92 and the DU 200 free relay won by 1/100th of a second in 1:40.98.
The Dukes will take the next four weeks to prepare for the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship which will be held Feb. 22-25 in Buffalo.
