@DuqSwimDive Continues Push for A-10 Title on Day Three

DAY THREE RESULTS

GENEVA, Ohio - Freshman Emma Brinton (Landenburg, Pa./Avon Grove) turned in another record-setting performance on Friday to lead the Duquesne swimming and diving team at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship at the SPIRE Institute. Following three days of competition, Richmond owns a slim one-point lead over the second-place Dukes heading into Saturday's action.

Brinton registered an Atlantic 10 Championship, pool and school record in the 400 individual medley with an NCAA "B" cut time of 4:15.90. This comes after besting the school record in the 200 individual medley school record last night with an NCAA `B" cut mark of 1:59.18.

The Dukes turned in a pair of individual bronze medal performances on Friday night as well, as senior Lexi Santer (Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) finished third in the 400 individual medley with an NCAA "B" cut time of 4:18.00, while junior Abigail Stauffer (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) added a third-place showing in the 100 breaststroke with a school-record and NCAA "B" cut mark of 1:01.98.

Senior Kayla Owens (Youngstown, Pa./Greater Latrobe) added an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:02.35 in the 100 breaststroke for Duquesne.

In addition, the Dukes' 400 medley relay team of Brinton, Stauffer, Santer and junior Morgan Smith (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) earned a bronze medal with a time of 3:43.21 in the final event of the night.
