Red and Blue in Second Place After Day One at A-10's

Duquesne's women's swimming team captured 66 team points in two relays Wednesday evening and finds itself in second place of 10 teams after day one of the four-day Atlantic 10 Championship.
The Red and Blue opened the competition with a third place showing in the 200-yard medley relay. Freshman Tara VanNatta, senior Katie McHugh, junior Katrina Streiner and senior Melissa Johnson combined to set a school record with a time of 1:45.44.
In the 800-yard freestyle relay, the Dukes took second place with a school record time of 7:33.77. Teaming up were Johnson, freshman Elizabeth Berk, sophomore Anne Hayles and Streiner.
Day two's preliminary action will begin at 10:30 am with the finals slated for 6:30 pm.
