Duquesne swimmer Meghan Smith claimed the Atlantic 10 title in the 400-yard individual medley, winning the event with a DU season-best time of 4:21.69. It is her first A-10 gold medal and the program's 12th since 2006.

Smith opened the evening with her first place showing in the 400 IM, but the Dukes were Duquesne Strong as they had four individuals score team points in the event. Kylie Dickman finished third in 4:23.54, Jamie Ruh was 13th in 4:30.74 and Grace Creighton was 15th in 4:34.79.

The Red and Blue were also successful in the second race of the evening as Line Lovberg captured sixth in the 100 butterfly with a school record time of 55.79, breaking her own record set at last year's A-10's.

The evening ended with the 400 medley relay of Catherine McAllister, Smith, Lovberg and Claire Nobles taking eighth in 3:50.76

The fourth and final day of the championship will resume Saturday with the preliminaries at 10:30 am and the finals beginning at 6:30 pm.
