Red and Blue Hang on to Third Place at A-10's

Duquesne's women's swimming team retained its third place showing after day three of the Atlantic 10 Championship. The Dukes used a second place performance by senior Melissa Johnson and fifth place showings by junior Kyla Favret and freshman Erica Smith to keep its place in the standings.
Johnson set a school record in the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:51.72 while Favret swam a 58.75 in the 100 backstroke and Smith touched in 58.47 in the 100 butterfly. Also finishing in the top eight was junior Katie McHugh who swam a 1:06.77 in the 100 breaststroke.
The 400 medley relay team of Favret, McHugh, Johnson and sophomore Katrina Streiner took third in 3:54.81.
The final day of action kicks off Saturday with trials at 10:30 am and finals at 6:30 pm.
