Meghan Smith Places Third in 200 IM at A-10 Swimming Championship

Meghan Smith turned in the second fastest time in Duquesne history in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing third at the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship in 2:03.03.

The Dukes opened the evening with a 13th-place showing by Miriam McGeath in the 500-yard freestyle with a career-best time of 5:02.77.

Smith then chimed in with her bronze medal performance in the 200 IM, followed by Line Lovberg who placed fifth in 2:04.94.

Erin Cawley wrapped up the individual performances for DU, placing sixth in the 50 freestyle in Duquesne's third-best time ever in 23.70.

The evening ended with an unfortunate disqualification in the 200 free relay.

The Red and Blue will dive back into action Friday morning with at 10:30 with preliminary races in the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast and 100 back. Finals will follow in each event beginning at 6:30 pm along with the 400 medley relay.
