Dukes Climb Into Fifth Place After Day Three of A-10 Championship

Six different Dukes scored points in Friday's day three action of the Atlantic 10 Championship as Duquesne climbed into fifth place with 185 team points. Meghan Smith turned in a second place finish and Line Lovberg broke a school record.

Smith opened the day with a second place showing in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:22.41. She was followed by Jamie Ruh in 10th place in 4:31.86 and Hannah Kondrotas in 13th in 4:36.31.

Lovberg followed that event with a school-record setting performance in the 100 butterfly, topping her own record with a fifth place time of 56.00. She was followed by Erin Cawley who placed eighth in 56.43.

Morgan Claycomb wrapped up the individual success for DU by finishing eighth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.08.

Day three ended with Claycomb, Smith, Lovberg and Cawley combining to take fifth place in the 400 medley relay in a near school record time of 3:49.98.

The fourth and final day of action begins Saturday morning with preliminary races in the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly and 1,650 freestyle. Finals in these events and the event-ending 400 free relay begin at 6:30 pm.
