Duquesne University's women's swimming team took home fourth place honors Saturday at the 2007 Atlantic 10 Championship. The fourth place finish is a University all-time best, equalling last year's showing.

Senior Liz Yager started the evening off on a high note for the Dukes by capturing first place in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Her 1,000-yard split of 10:28.48 set a new school record.

Senior Melissa Johnson also won a gold medal, taking first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a school-record time of 51.59. Sophomore Katrina Streiner, who in the afternoon preliminary swim set a school record time of 51.96 in the event, finished fourth in the finals with a time of 52.72.

The Red and Blue also took home a silver medal on Saturday, placing second in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Johnson and Streiner along with freshman Erica Smith and junior Lauren Stephens finished the race in 3:31.08.
