DU Swimming Goes 2-2 Against Atlantic 10 Foes on Saturday

Duquesne swimming team went 2-2 Saturday as they faced four Atlantic 10 opponents at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

The Dukes defeated Xavier 153-143 and Butler 248-48 while falling to St. Bonaventure, 188-108 and La Salle, 174-122.

Line Lovberg won the 200-yard butterfly by over two seconds with a time of 2:04.69 and also won the 100 fly with a time of 58.21. Meghan Smith captured first in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:09.62.

Claire Nobles finished second in the 200 freestyle in 53.66 while Samantha Ray took second in the 50 free in 24.54.

The Dukes also won the 400 free relay in 3:35.84 and placed second in the 200 free relay in 1:38.82.

"We had a solid effort from the entire team today. I was pleased with how we raced and how they prepared to race. As long as we continue to work on that and some of the smaller things we will be in good shape come February."

The Red and Blue return to action on Friday, Nov. 16 as they compete in the three-day Cleveland State Invitational.
