Dukes Complete Day One Action of CSU Invitational

Duquesne's swimming team finished day one of three days in fourth place at the CSU Invitational Friday in Ohio.
The Dukes tallied 282 team points thanks in part to their relays. The 200-yard freestyle relay took fifth, 12th and 19th for 58 points to open the meet and the 400 medley relay secured 78 team points by placing 5th, 8th and 15th for an additional 78 team points.
In between those races, the Dukes scored 73 team points by having six swimmers score in the 200 Indivdual Medley as Meghan Smith took third for 20 team points, Miriam McGeath captured sixth for 17 team points and four others scored team points as well.
Samantha Ray followed with a fifth place showing in the 50 free in the final individual event of the day for 18 team points.
Nearly 40 team points were also registered in the 50 breaststroke and 500 freestyle.
Day two of three action begins Saturday morning at 10:00 am, followed by finals at 5:00 pm.
