Red and Blue Keep Pace on Second Day of CSU Invitational

Duquesne's swimmers tallied over 300 team points to remain in fourth place after two days at the Cleveland State Invitational Saturday evening.

Miriam McGeath led the Dukes by taking first place in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:23.68, which was good for 24 points. She was followed by Nicole Bruneel in 6th place.

Prior to that race the Dukes accumulated 92 points in the 200 medley relay, placing 5th, 8th, 12th and 17th out of ro teams.

Other individual highlights included Meghan Smith placing third in the 100 butterfly in 57.49, Lillian Nelson taking third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.43, Kylie Dickman finishing sixth in the 200 freestyle in 1:55.59, Hallie McCue placing seventh in the 100 backstroke in 58.66 and Line Lovberg and Samantha Ray finishing 7th and 8th in the 100 butterfly.

The day wrapped up with the Red and Blue taking fifth and ninth place in the 800 freestyle relay.

The third and final day of action will take place on Sunday with preliminaries at 9:00 am and finals at 3:00 pm.
