Meet 8 Duquesne at YSU Diving Invite

- The Duquesne divers cap the regular season on Saturday afternoon at the Youngstown State Diving Invitational at the Beeghly Natatorium. The action gets underway at 1 p.m. from Youngstown, Ohio. 

- The Dukes, led by head diving coach Charlie Hauser, are competing in diving for the first time since the 2000-01 campaign after the program was reinstated prior to this season. 

- DU features four freshman divers on its roster, including Paige Aley (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton), Peyton Joiner (Northford, Conn./North Branford) Colleen Rodrigues (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Moreland) and Sawyer Weitzel (Celina, Ohio/Celina). 

- Rodrigues owns the top score for the Dukes in the 1-meter dive (219.35) which she posted at the Richmond Duals, while Joiner posted Duquesne's top score in the 3-meter diver (200.10) at Akron. Rodrigues helped the Dukes top Davidson with her performance to open the 2017-18 season. Joiner placed second in the 3-meter dive with her showing against the Zips. 

The Duquesne swimming and diving team competes at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship from Wednesday, Feb. 14 to Saturday, Feb. 17 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The Dukes have recorded two straight second-place finishes, including their highest point total at the championship meet in program history last season.
