Duquesne University junior swimmer Meghan Smith (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) has been named to the 2013 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team.

Smith, a physical therapy major, was crowned the Atlantic 10 champion in the 400-yard Individual Medley with a Duquesne season-best time of 4:21.69 at the Atlantic 10 Championships, Feb. 20-23. At the championships she also finished third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:01.72 and placed fifth in the 200 IM with a DU season-best time of 2:03.71.

In addition, Smith turned in the second fastest time in school history in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:51.81 at A-10's and competed at the 2012 Winter National Championships in December as well.

Duquesne has had at least one women's swimmer named Academic All-Conference in each of the past 13 years and in 18 of the possible 19 years the Dukes have been eligible for the award.
