Swimming Announces Roster Additions

Duquesne University swimming coach David Sheets recently announced the additions of Jaclyn Fiedor (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield), Taylor Kane (Langhorne, Pa./Archbishop Wood/James Madison Univ.), Catherine McAllister (Batavia, N.Y./Batavia), Vanessa Rohm (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hopewell) and Morgan Schmidt (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) to the 2012-13 roster.
Fiedor comes to Duquesne as an All-American and All-State honoree. A team captain, she was a four-year WPIAL qualifier, a three-year PIAA State qualifier and a three-time WPIAL medalist.
Kane joins the Dukes as a transfer from James Madison University. In high school, she was a three-time Scholastic All-American, a 2010 All-American and a five-time First Team-All-State honoree. She is a 15-time Catholic League champion, a 12-time district champion and holds numerous school and district records.
McAllister was a six-year varsity swimmer who holds school records in the 100-yard backstroke and the 200 IM. She was the 2010 Section V Class B champion in the 100 back and 200 IM as well as the Section V Class B Co-Swimmer of the Meet and three-time team MVP.
Rohm was a three-time WPIAL and PIAA State qualifier in the 100-yard breaststroke as well as in relays. A team captain and four-year letterman, she was also the 2011 MAC champion and 2012 MAC runner-up in the 100 breaststroke.
Schmidt comes to the Red and Blue as a four-year WPIAL qualifier, a two-year WPIAL medalist and two-year PIAA State qualifier. A four-year letter-winner and two-year team captain, she boasts numerous USA Swimming accolades as well.
These five student-athletes will join the seven additional newcomers that were announced in the fall.
