June 19, 2018

NORFOLK, Va. - Following the most successful season in program history in the pool, the Duquesne swimming and diving team also continued its excellence in the classroom this semester, earning a College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Award, the organization announced on Tuesday morning.

The CSCAA recognizes teams with the Scholar All-America Award for achieving a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2018 spring semester. The defending Atlantic 10 champion Dukes recorded a team GPA of 3.6 for the term.

Duquesne finished with the second-highest team GPA in the A-10 for the second straight semester. The Dukes also landed a league-high five student-athletes on the A-10 All-Academic Team.

The A-10 was one of just eight Division I conferences which saw each of its 11 women's programs recognized.

All told, DU was one of 172 Division I Scholar All-America women's teams to garner the award.

In addition, the CSCAA is slated to announce its individual Scholar All-Americans next week.
