Three Duquesne University swimmers recently received Atlantic 10 honors as junior Ian Walsh (Tobyhanna, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) and sophomore Erin Sykes (Greensboro, N.C./Grimsley) were named the Atlantic 10 Performer's of the Week for the week ending Nov. 2 and freshman Roman Becicka (Gem Lake, Minn./Mounds View) was named the A-10 Men's Rookie of the Week.

Walsh placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke (58.26) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:11.00) events on Nov. 1 at Bucknell. He also helped the Dukes to a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay (1:37.54).

Erin Sykes

Sykes broke her own school record in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a winning time of 10:21.31 at Bucknell. She also captured gold in the 500-yard freestyle (5:03.94).

Roman Becicka

Becicka captured gold in the 1,000-yard freestyle at Bucknell with a winning time of 9:44.27. He also placed second in the 200-yard individual medley (1:55.84) and 500-yard freestyle (4:42.27) events.

The Red and Blue return to action on Friday, Nov. 14 as they travel to Clarion for a 4:00 pm meet.
