Duquesne University's women's tennis team opened their spring schedule Saturday afternoon with a 7-0 victory over Bucknell at Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa. This win gave the Dukes a sweep of the Bison's tennis teams this weekend; Duquesne's men's team grabbed a 5-2 win versus BU on Friday.

Duquesne won all six singles games, with only BU's Ashley Globerman forcing senior Jackie Hughes to a third set. Senior Alicia McNamara, juniors Johanna Bezjak and Andrea Sailer, sophomore Rebecca Poole and freshman Rachel McGowan each had straight set wins.

The duos of Hughes and Poole, Bezjak and McGowan, and Sailer and sophomore Alexandria Albano all won their doubles matches.

The Dukes (2-0) next face the Mid-American Conference's Bowling Green State University on Friday, February 9, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club in the Toledo, Ohio area. The Dukes will take on Toledo on Sat. Feb. 10th at 10:00 a.m. on the same court.
