@DuqWTennis Splits Weekend Matches
WEEKEND RECAP:
The Duquesne women's tennis team competed in two matches over the weekend at the Alpha Tennis and Fitness Center, falling to Pitt on Saturday (4-3) and defeating Saint Joseph's (7-0) on Sunday.

Pittsburgh 4, Duquesne 3 

Pitt swept the doubles points to open the match, and the teams would split singles competition, taking three points each. Julianne Herman (2-6, 7-6, 6-1), Ally Miller (6-2, 6-1) and Laurel Shymansky (6-4, 6-3) recorded wins in singles matches for the Dukes.

Duquesne 7, Saint Joseph's 0  

Kylie Isaacs (6-1, 6-1), Aishwarya Kona (6-3, 6-4), Herman (6-2, 6-2), Miller (6-3, 6-3) and Shymansky (6-0, 6-1) each had straight set victories in singles competition. Sara Mitrovic (3-6, 6-1, 10-6) won the #6 in a tie breaker, with Duquesne sweeping SJU in singles matches.

The teams of Issacs/Herman (6-0) and Shymanksy/ Koralie Etienne (6-3) earned points for the Dukes in doubles competition. The match opened Atlantic 10 Conference play for Duquesne.

UP NEXT:
The Dukes head to Olean, NY to face another A-10 opponent in St. Bonaventure on Saturday and return home to host Carnegie Mellon on Sunday at 4 p.m.
