Results

Toledo, Ohio - Bowling Green's women's tennis team edged Duquesne, 4-3, Friday at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club in Toledo, Ohio.

Senior Jacqueline Hughes (McKeesport, Pa.) and junior Johanna Bezjak (Salisbury, Md.) each won both of their matches. Bezjak took the Falcons' Ashley Jakupcin, 6-3, 6-0, at number one singles and Hughes defeated Samantha Kintzel, 6-2, 7-5, at the number two spot.

Hughes teamed with sophomore Rebecca Poole (Swindon, Wiltshire, UK) and Bezjak was joined by freshman Rachel McGowan (Canton, Ohio) in their doubles wins. BGSU took the other four singles contests. The victory evened Bowling Green's season record to 3-3.

Saturday's scheduled match with Toledo has been cancelled.

Duquesne (2-1) will return to Ohio on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, when they take on the Akron Zips (2-1) at 1:00 p.m. at the LaTuchie Tennis Center in Stow, Ohio.
