Final Stats

The Duquesne women's tennis team suffered a 2-5 fall to visiting Bucknell Friday at the Oxford Athletic Club in Monroeville. Jackie Hughes and Alicia McNamara took wins at No. 2 and No. 5 doubles respectively.

Johanna Bezjack and Julie Wagner won at No. 2 doubles (8-6), but the Dukes suffered losses at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to enter singles play at 0-1. Bezjack won 7-5 (6) in the first set at No. 1 singles, but faltered 3-6 and 4-6 for the loss. Hughes came back from a 1-6 deficit to win 6-4, 6-2 at second singles before Andrea Sailer fell 3-6, 0-6 at No. 3 singles. Sarah Shanahan bounced back from a 5-7 loss in the first set at fourth singles to win 6-4, but suffered a 0-6 loss in the third set. McNamara also came back to win at fifth singles after a 4-6 loss. She posted wins of 6-0 and 6-4 for the victory. Ciara McDermott suffered a 4-6, 1-6 loss at sixth singles.
