@DuqWTennis Sweeps Spring Break Matches

The Duquesne women's tennis team swept both of their matches in their Spring Break trip to Orlando, Fla. The Dukes improved to 10-5 overall after wins over Norfolk State and South Dakota.

DUQUESNE 7, NORFOLK STATE 0
The Dukes opened the trip with a shutout of the Spartans. NSU only fielded five players in singles and two doubles teams.

The teams of Kylie Isaacs and Julianne Herman and Megan Wasson and Laurel Shymansky were each 6-1 winners in doubles. Ally Miller and Sara Mitrovic won their macth by default.

Isaacs, Herman, Ally Miller and Aishwarya Kona all won in straight sets while Wasson battled to a three set victory. Shymansky picked up a win via default.

DUQUESNE 5, SOUTH DAKOTA 2
Duquesne picked up its 10th victory of the season after defeating the Coyotes. The Dukes won the doubles point by winning two matches - Herman/Isaacs and Sara Mitrovic/Ally Miller. Herman, Kona, Shymansky and Mitrovic all recorded singles wins.

UP NEXT
The Dukes return to Atlantic 10 Conference play when they visit George Mason on Mar. 24th. The Virginia trip will also see Duquesne battle the fellow Dukes of James Madison the following day.
