Women's Tennis Defeats Dayton on Senior Day, 6-1
Tara Majdalani won at #6 singles 6-0, 6-0 and 8-0 at #3 doubles

HARMAR, Pa. - The Duquesne women's tennis team won its seventh match in its last eight tries after defeating Atlantic 10 rival Dayton 6-1 on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day.

Senior Tara Majdalani had a perfect day, winning at #6 singles 6-0, 6-0 and at #3 doubles with partner Chandler Consonery 8-0. Graduate student Vanessa Steiner was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at #1 singles and an 8-4 winner at #2 doubles with partner Paula Gruber.

In addition to the teams of Majdalani/Consonery and Steiner/Gruber, Megan O'Sullivan and Judy Li were 8-5 winners at #1 doubles.

in singles, O'Sullivan was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at #2, Li a 7-6 (5), 6-0 winner at #3 and Gruber a 6-2, 6-0 winner at #5.

With the win, DUQ improves to 10-7 overall and 3-4 in the A-10 loop. This is the final conference match of the year for the Dukes who close out the season with Youngstown State on Mar. 27, Pittsburgh on Apr. 4 and Robert Morris on Apr. 10.
