Women's Tennis Splits A-10 Weekend Matches

DAYTON and CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Duquesne women's tennis team split a pair of Atlantic 10 matches this weekend on the road, defeating Dayton 6-1 and falling to Xavier 4-3. These matches put the Dukes record at 5-8, 2-3 A-10. The victory against Dayton snapped a four match losing streak.
Against the Flyers, the Dukes swept the doubles point with all three doubles teams winning. The number one doubles team, Megan O' Sullivan and Sarah Shashura, won their match 8-3. Judy Li and Alexa Miller won at #2 8-1, and Chandler Consonery and Daniela Osio won 8-4 at #3.
In singles, Duquesne won five out of the six matches. At #1, Judy Li won 6-2, 6-3. #2 Megan O'Sullivan won 6-0, 3-6, 11-9, #4 Alrissa Tobe 6-3, 6-0, #5 Chandler Consonery 6-0, 6-1, and #6 Alexa Miller also won 6-2, 6-1.
Sunday's match against the Musketeers started with Xavier sweeping the doubles point and gaining the extra point needed for the victory. #3 Sashura won her second match of the year 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. #5 Consonery and #6 Miller were also victorious with Miller winning 4-2, 6-2 and Consonery prevailing 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.
Up next for the Dukes is a home match against Youngstown State University on Friday, March 29th at 3:00 p.m. The men's team will be playing right after the match is concluded against Cleveland State. Their match is tentatively scheduled at 6:30 p.m.
