Dukes Lose To GW, 5-2

Pittsburgh, PA - Duquesne's women's tennis team lost an Atlantic 10 Conference match to George Washington, 5-2, Friday afternoon in Pittsburgh. The loss dropped DU's season record to 4-7 while the Colonials are now 4-5.

Junior Alina Klinova (Moscow, Russia / W1278) defeated Tracy Wei 6-0, 6-3 in number one singles and sophomore Sarah Shanahan (Columbus, OH / Bishop Watterson) topped Sam Fisher 7-5, 6-4 in number four singles. Klinova teamed with classmate Katie Riedinger (Plum Borough, Pa. / Plum) in the Red and Blues lone doubles win.

The Dukes resume play Sunday, Mar. 30th, at 10:00 a.m. when they host the Big East's Villanova Wildcats.
