#DuqWTen Splits Matches on Senior Weekend

SATURDAY'S RESULT: George Washington 5, Duquesne 2

UD RECAP: The senior class of 2014 - Judy Li and Alrissa Tobe - was honored before the match. The duo came away with victories in singles, Li at #1 over Alex Townsend 7-6 (8-5), 6-1 and Tobe at #5 over Katie Shepherd 6-4, 7-5. Alexa Miller, Chandler Consonery and Sarah Shashura were both straight sets winners at #2, #4 and #6 respectively.

GW RECAP: The match started out with a close doubles point. After being down 7-1, the #1 team of Li and Miller fought back to 7-6, but could not finish as GW's Isabella Escobar and Taylor Nederlander took away an 8-6 win. Shashura and Spencer Caravaggio were 8-4 winners at #2 doubles over Lana Robins and Grace Egger. The point came down to the #3 spot. The Colonials' Leah Pascarella and Stephanie Wei held off Consonery and Megan Wasson 8-6.

In singles, the Dukes only won a pair of matches - Li was a 7-6 (8-5), 6-4 winner over Robins at #1 and Consonery was a 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 winner at #4 over Wei.

UP NEXT: The Dukes hit the road for a day trip to Cleveland State on Sunday afternoon. Match time is 3:00 p.m. The following day, the Dukes head to Moon Township to face cross-town rival Robert Morris at 3:00 p.m.
