Results

The Duquesne women's tennis team suffered a close 3-4 loss to visiting Pitt Wednesday afternoon at the Oxford Athletic Club in Monroeville. Freshman Johanna Bezjak led the Dukes winning at first singles and second doubles for a 2-0 mark on the day.

Bezjak is 21-13 this year and stands 5-6 in singles, 7-4 in doubles during the spring season.

Pitt opened play winning the doubles point with an 8-1 decision at first doubles and 9-7 at third doubles. The Dukes' Bezjak and Julie Wagner won 8-5 at second doubles.

Bezjak took a 6-0, 6-3 win at first singles followed by a 6-3, 6-1 win at second singles by sophomore Jackie Hughes. Also winning for the Red & Blue was freshman Alicia McNamara who took a 6-2, 6-3 decision at fifth singles.

Duquesne is back in play this Saturday traveling to A-10 member Dayton for a 9:00 am match.
