Women's Tennis Falls to Pittsburgh 4-3

MONROEVILLE - The Duquesne women's tennis team lost a hard-fought match against Pittsburgh at the Club 4 Life, 4-3, Wednesday afternoon. The loss ended the Dukes' five-game winning streak.

The marathon match, which lasted over four hours, began in the Dukes favor as they took the double point. The teams of Johanna Bezjak and Rachel McGowan and Zena Williams and Rebecca Poole won No.1 and No.2 doubles respectively.

In singles action, DU could only get a pair of wins from Bezjak at No. 2 and Kristen Swenson at No. 6 as Williams, Poole, McGowan and Andrea Sailer all fell.

The Dukes will finish out their regular season Saturday afternoon as they travel to Toledo to take on the Rockets. Match time is 1:00 p.m.
