Dukes Take Pitt 5-2 in Season Finale

The Duquesne women's tennis team ended its 2004 regular season taking a 5-2 decision at Pitt Tuesday afternoon. The win puts the Dukes at 7-9 in the Spring, 11-9 overall on the year.
The Dukes took the doubles point winning No. 1 (Alina Klinova / Sarah Shanahan) 8-6 and No. 3 (Jackie Hughes / Ciara McDermott) 8-2. Klinova took a 7-6, 1-6, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles followed by wins at No. 2 (Katie Riedinger), No. 3 (Hughes) and No. 6 (Alicia McNamara).
Duquesne will close out its year April 16-18 at the Atlantic 10 Championship in College Park, MD. Daily results of the championship can be found on the Atlantic 10 web site atlantic10.org.
