Two of Duquesne women's tennis players competing in the singles draw of the Bucknell Invitational remain undefeated and headed for Sunday's semifinals after winning both matches on the first day of action in the eight-team event on Saturday. And three of the Dukes' four doubles tandems won their only match to also remain in the championship bracket.
Senior Katie Riedinger and junior Julie Wagner are in the Invite's championship bracket as are the Riedinger / Jackie Hughes, Sarah Shanahan / Alicia McNamara and Ciara McDermott / Beth Rahauser duos who each won their opening matches. DU was 10-6 in singles competition and 13-7 overall on Saturday.
The four flight competition, which concludes on Sunday, features teams from Bloomsburg, Georgetown, Loyola (MD), Marist, Pittsburgh and Villanova in addition to the Dukes and the host Bison.
