Dukes Improve To 3-0 With Win Over IUP

Duquesne University's women's tennis team extended their undefeated record to 3-0 with a 5-1 victory over Indiana University of Pennsylvania Thursday afternoon at the Oxford Athletic Club in Monroevillle, Pa.

Senior Katie Riedinger paced the Dukes with a win in the number 2 singles match. Junior Sarah Shanahan (#5) and freshmen Jackie Hughes (#3), Alicia McNamara (#4) and Ciara McDermott (#6) also followed up with two-set wins. IUP, a Division II team in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, lost their first match of the season after eight straight wins.

No doubles matches were played.

The Dukes complete their Fall 2003 schedule this Saturday, October 4th, when they host the Northeast Conference's St. Francis (PA) (1-8 at 2:00 p.m. at the OAC.
