MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - Megan O'Sullivan and Vanessa Steiner capped a successful weekend at the Martha Thorn Invitational by winning the Flight A Doubles championship this past weekend on the campus of West Virginia University.

The duo, who are now 5-1 as a team this season, defeated teams from Virginia Tech (8-2), Pittsburgh (8-6) and Youngstown State (9-7) en route to the title.

Steiner advanced into the quarterfinals of the Flight A Singles bracket with a 6-0, 3-6. 6-3 victory over Catrine Bjerrehus of Cleveland State. O'Sullivan made it to the quarterfinals of the Flight A Consolation bracket with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Ohio State's Tiffany Dittmer.

Paula Gruber, Tara Majdalani and Chandler Consonery all won their Round of 16 matches in the Flight B Singles bracket. Gurber 6-4, 6-4 over WVU's Mary Chupa. Majdalani6-2, 6-2 over Gimena Puppo of Youngstown State and Consonary over Lauren Hinkle of Youngstown State 7-5, 5-7, 6-4.

After receiving a bye in the semifinal qualifier in the Flight C Consolation bracket, Alexandra Assaf advanced into the finals after a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Pitt's Catie Wickline. In the finals, Assaf fell to Alex Power of Cleveland State 6-1, 6-0.

The Dukes finish out the fall season on Oct. 14th and 15th at the Rocket Invitational hosted by the University of Toledo.
