Women's Tennis Seeded Fourth in 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship

PHILADELPHIA - The Duquesne women's tennis team received the fourth seed for the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship. The Dukes will take on #13 Saint Joseph's in a first-round match on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Head coach Joe Camillo's Dukes finished the season 12-5 overall and go into the tournament winning six of their last seven matches.

Williams Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Co-Rookie of the Week

Zena Williams began the 2008 season as Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week and ended the 2008 season as Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Week. Williams earned her team-best 26th win of the season with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles against Akron on Apr. 12. She, along with Rachel McGowan, was an 8-2 winner at No. 2 doubles against the Zips. Williams and McGowan were 8-6 winners at No. 2 doubles against Pittsburgh on Apr. 9 .

Williams finishes regular season with a .866 winning percentage at singles (26-4).

In the 11 weeks since the season started, Williams has honored a total of six times, including three outright Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week awards.
