Women's Tennis Adds Three to Roster
The Dukes have added Maria Mastromarino Alexa Miller and Sarah Shashura to the roster.

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne head women's tennis coach Joe Camillo has announced the additions of Maria Mastromarino, Alexa Miller and Sarah Shashura to the roster.

"I am excited to have these three outstanding student-athletes on the team," said Camillo. "They all have played in big matches in their careers and their experience will make them an asset to the team."

Mastromarino (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) is coming off a spectacular senior season. She led Berks to the PIAA District 3 AA finals and state quarterfinals. Individually, she advanced to the finals of the Berks County AA singles and section double championship.

Miller (Cranberry Township, Pa./Shady Side Academy) led Shady Side Academy to the WPIAL and PIAA finals her senior season. A four year starter, Miller was the 2011 WPIAL AAA Section 3 finalist and led the Indians to an undefeated section record. Miller was part of two Shady Side Academy team that won the WPIAL AAA Championship in 2008 and 2010.

Shashura (Grindstone, Pa./Brownsville) began her career at California high school where she was the WPIAL AA singles champion as a freshman. She competed on the California boy's tennis team as a sophomore and won the WPIAL boys' singles title that year. She was WPIAL girls' runner-up at Brownsville as a junior and won the title as a senior. She qualified for PIAA singles four times and placed third in the state twice.
