Contact Coach Delsite: delsite@duq.edu Entering his 14th season as head coach, Bryan Delsite has been the force behind the growth of the Duquesne women's cross country and track & field programs. He has taken both programs and turned them into competitive forces and consistent contenders in the Atlantic 10 Conference. He has brought the program to new levels by continually improving the overall quality of the Dukes' competition and talent. Just about each university record has fallen under his guidance. Delsite has seen 21 student-athletes earn All-Atlantic 10 honors a total of 53 times and over 70 Atlantic 10 Championship medals won over his term. Delsite is a two-time Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year. He received his first honor in 2002 after leading the Dukes to a third place finish at the A-10 Outdoor Championship. He received his second award in 2005, after a program-best second place finish at the A-10 Outdoor Championship and taking home a school record 17 combined Atlantic 10 Championship medals. Prior to being named head coach, Delsite served as the assistant coach during the 1996 and 1997 seasons. In addition, he served as the Assistant Athletic Academic Coordinator at Duquesne from 1996 until the conclusion of the 1997-98 academic year. Before coming to The Bluff, Delsite served as the assistant men's and women's track & field and cross country coach for Robert Morris College from the fall of 1994 until his hiring at Duquesne in the fall of 1996. During the spring 1995 season at Robert Morris, Delsite ran the men's and women's track & field squads on an interim basis. While at Robert Morris, Delsite received a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in sport management. He served as the graduate assistant to the director of compliance and student services, where he assisted in all aspects of eligibility, financial aid and recruiting for athletes. He also competed in the Junior World Championship in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in 1990 and finished as the triple jump runner-up at the 1990 TAC Junior National Championship in Fresno, California as a member of the USA Junior National team. A native of Elysburg, Pa., Delsite was named the No. 28 selection on the Press Enterprise's Top 50 Sports Figures of the Century list in 1999. In 1996, Delsite was inducted into the Bernie Romanoski Athracite Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. Delsite has been a member of the Mid-Atlantic Region cross country poll voting committee. Delsite and his wife Jennifer resides in Pittsburgh, Pa. with their children Benjamin Ryan, Lydia Rose and Sara Rae. |
