Women's Track and Field Finishes Second at Bucknell Heptagonal

LEWISBURG, PA - The Duquesne women's track & field team finished second overall at the Bucknell Heptagonal this weekend.
Melissa Miller had another outstanding weekend, as she scored 10 points for DU after winning the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.47. Miller was also on the first place 4x400 meter relay along with Kathleen Parker, Charlene Garth and Erica Moody. The team held off a tough Shippensburg squad by just 0.08 seconds to earn Duquesne 10 points. She also earned the Dukes six points after her third place finish in the 400 meter dash crossing in 59.52 less than a second in front of Erica Moody (100.24/four points).
Parker's time of 2:24.34 in the 800 meter run scored six points for the Dukes while Garth crossed in 1:18.13 in the 500 meter dash earning six points.
The 4x800 meter relay team of Beahan, Carly Brickett, Cimino and Kelly scored 8 points with their second place finish in 9:50.33.
Sierra Larsuel's second place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.33 meters earning eight points.
Arin Whitman earned a point with her sixth place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 14.61 and scored four points with her fourth place finish in the shot put, throwing 11.84 meters.
In the pole vault, Daniela Siciliano scored six points with her third place finish with a throw of 3.29 meters.
Merritt Woods scored a point with her time of 9.19 in the 55 meter hurdles and Jenna Daggett earned six points in the 5000 meter run finishing in 19:10.88.
Sara Cimino's time of 5:15.60 in the 1 mile scored one point for the Dukes.
Next up for the track and field team is the Penn State National Jan. 25-26.
