YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Duquesne women's track and field team participated in the Youngstown State Mid-Major Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS). The Dukes finished with six first-place marks to go with eight other top-three showings at the two-day, 22-team event.
Sophomores Bethany Evankovich (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) and Megan Aller (New Kensington, Pa./Kiski Area) paced the 500-meter dash (1:15.38) and the 1000 meter run (3:00.74), respectively, for Duquesne.
A week after setting a new school record in the 3000-meter run, senior Jenny DelSignore (Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home) won the one-mile run on Saturday with a time of 5:02.20.
Junior Elizabeth Morris (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) won the 5000-meter run for the Dukes with a mark of 17:33.28, while sophomore Maris Seto (Brownsville, Pa./Brownsville) paced the high jump at 1.65 meters.
Junior Shannon Taub (Philadelphia, Pa./Council Rock) won the pentathlon for Duquesne with a score of 3313, with first-place marks in the 800-meter run (2:41.53), high jump (1.63m) and the shot put (12.18m).

The Dukes travel to Virginia Military Institute (VMI) for the VMI Winter Relays on Friday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10 in Lexington, Va.
