Raleigh, North Carolina - Freshman Erica Moody (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Oakland Catholic) set a new Duquesne 400 meter dash women's outdoor record Friday at North Carolina State's Raleigh Relays at Paul Derr Track on the NC State campus. Senior Kristen Micsky (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds) also finished first in her heat in the 400 meter hurdles.

Moody, this week's Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, won her heat with a time of 57:45. This breaks LynnDee Howell's mark (57.59) set at the 2000 A-10 Championships.

Two DU juniors finished in the top three in later 400M heats. Amelia Sofis (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Fox Chapel) captured second and Elena Resovich (Greensburg, Pa. / Hempfield Area) took third in the competition.

Micsky, who holds the school outdoor record in the long jump, finished the 400M hurdles in 1:05.03, first in her heat.

The two-day event concludes on Saturday, March 26th.
